Alberta Separation – Stay Or Go

leave a comment »

With this China flu debacle and the oil price collapse Alberta has been devastated . With tens of thousands unemployed and bankruptcy’s piling up and with little help from Trudeau, it’s starting to smell like desperation is just around the corner. The thing is, even if Trudeau threw a few billion our way, it’s only a short term fix. What Alberta needs for long term growth is for its energy industry to find new markets and start growing, and to diversify its economy. . An almost impossible task in todays tightly controlled and competitive markets and with the hysteria of the environmental movement . The question is, would it be wise for Alberta to sidestep these obstacles by looking at options outside of Confederation? for-instance, Could Alberta separate from Canada and do better or could Alberta have a sovereign association with Canada? Maybe Alberta could simply join the US. Is it even reasonable for Alberta to leave Canada and strike out on its own.

The first obstacle Alberta would have to contend with in order to start the process to separate, would be to follow key points of the Canadian legislation which gives the house of commons a lot of power in the process. The house can actually override the referendum if it felt it violated the clarity act even with a majority.

The key points of the legislation included the following:

  • Giving the House of Commons the power to decide whether a proposed referendum question was considered clear before the public vote;
  • Specifically stating that any question not solely referring to secession was to be considered unclear;
  • Giving the House of Commons the power to determine whether or not a clear majority had expressed itself following any referendum vote, implying that some sort of supermajority is required for success;
  • Stating that all provinces and the First Nations were to be part of the negotiations;
  • Allowing the House of Commons to override a referendum decision if it felt the referendum violated any of the tenets of the Clarity Act;
  • The secession of a province of Canada would require an amendment to the Constitution of Canada.

Personally I doubt that a ruling Liberal party would ever allow Alberta to separate. The House of Commons has too much power. New separation rules would have to be put in place to stand a chance of success ,otherwise the process could drag out forever under the present Clarity act rules.

Oil is a big part of Albertas economy. Albertans can’t plan their future on yesterdays hay-day. As we have just found out, if the oil market is not tightly controlled, it can result in chaos. When the Saudis and Russia couldn’t agree on production quotas, combined with the COVD19 catastrophe Albertas oil became worthless. The fact is, there is no free market competition in the oil industry. If Alberta did separate, how can Alberta compete in this controlled atmosphere? The powers to be are not going to just give up and let Alberta steal their markets without a fight. I believe a separate Alberta with a strong dependence on oil exports would not win the battle for new markets. We would most likely only be able to keep our US market providing we have a friendly government in the Whitehouse. Keeping Alberta’s present US oil market becomes a gamble if we separate.

The bottom line is, Alberta separation is a very complicated issue that could take a decade to sort out and the Trudeau liberals know it. Over the past 5 years the liberals with their media friends have been breaking down Alberta’s power, influence and generous reputation, leaving Albertans with little to work with or cheer about, in a bid to get rid of conservatism and bring Alberta into his new world technocracy. They have done a real number on Alberta.

In order for Alberta to get back into the game, I would think the best way forward would not to have a referendum on sovereignty or join the US but a referendum on a new deal in confederation. This way Alberta can write its own question without the House of commons interfering. This will give Alberta a platform to start the ball rolling and let the rest of Canadians understand how important and generous Albertas contributions have been and will be. It will also let Canadians know Alberta needs help now and how serious the situation is. Also, Albertans wouldn’t look a bunch of trouble making RADICALS. This would also allow Albertans time to look ahead at a sovereign platform if needed later on.

Western separatist parties that have sprung up lately will do more harm than good. All they will accomplish is to split the conservative vote . I FIND THIS VERY SUSPECT. Why would any conservative minded group want to split the Alberta conservative vote after living through the NDP. Very suspicious . Very unproductive .

Albertans and the Alberta government know they have a problem with the federal liberals. Obstructing pipelines, billions in transfer payments, unfair carbon tax , using covid19 to power grab to mention a few. Only as one united conservative party committed, ready and willing to take action can Alberta work out a plan to move ahead to prosper. Separation or secession to the US isn’t the answer that Alberta needs at this time in its history.

Alberta Oil- Cloudy Days Ahead

leave a comment »

Alberta is still hoping for the good old days and hitching its wagon on pumping up oil production in the hope it can get its oil to tide waters to sell to International market. Even if by some chance Alberta does get its tidewater Pipeline, will the international market be there to sell too?

Within the next 20-25 years oil being used for gasoline will be a thing of the past with the emerging electric car. Presently gasoline represents about 47% of all oil production. With the electric car moving into the market place this share of the oil market will inevitability shrink. For those that don’t believe that electric cars can compete with the gasoline automobiles, better think again. The folks that didn’t believe the horse and buggy could be replaced by the gasoline driven car were sadly mistaken and devistated when their industry disappeared. Ironically the buggy loyalists were using many of the same reasons the horse and buggy couldn’t be replaced as todays naysayers are using against the electric car.

In 2018, Americans used about 143 billion gallons of motor gasoline—or about 391 million gallons per day. Ninty Two Percent (92%) of of all gasoline consumed in the US was from Light-duty vehicles (cars, sport utility vehicles, and small trucks) which are now being converted to electric. Forty seven percent (47%) of all oil production is going to be replaced by electric. Today just drive down the street and see how many cars are 20 years or older. Not many. In 20 years you will drive down the street and see just a few gasoline driven vehicles. The major car companies are all jumping on the bandwagon. Even diesel 18 wheelers are being tested using electric engines. The transition to electric will take a big bite out of oil producers world wide, not just Alberta.

With electric cars getting GOOD milage, between 300-480 kilometres on a full charge and QUICK charging within 30 minutes the transition is underway. In 2020 there is going to be at least 11 new models coming to market. Fords company’s CEO Mark Fields said that he wants 40% of Ford’s nameplates to have an electrified version by 2020. There is no turning back.

We are now at the stage the Ford model T was when it was first introduced. It was too expensive for the average person to buy. 15 years later it was everywhere thanks to the invention of the assembly line. The horse and buggy disappeared within 20 years along with all the industries that supported it.

Today is not the first time the world has transitioned into a new more efficient energy. Today’s s change has very little to with climate change (global warming) and everything to do with efficiency and profit. The public and business can charge their own vehicles plus no expensive engine work. All the cons of electric car ownership are disappearing.

With electric transportation moving its way up the S curve , the seventy percent (70%) of a barrel of oil going to produce gasoline and diesel will be cut back drastically. This shift is going to have a very negative future impact on Alberta and Albertans especially if your under 40 years old. We will still be producing oil but a lot less. Every other oil producing country has the same problem. Alberta will have some very tough competition just to keep some of the US market that we have enjoyed over the years. Trying to be the new kid on the block in an international marketplace desperate to sell their product will be all but impossible.

Alberta has to stop its fixation on pipelines and oil and start thinking how we can jump on board this new energy wave. If we don’t we will take our place in history beside the horse and buggy manufactures. Not a pleasant thought.

Canada – ON THE BRINK!

leave a comment »

Socialism in Venezuela is causing death, destruction, suffering and chaos. No food, no order, no hope! Facing no hope for the future, the People of Venezuela will now accept or be forced to accept their new dictator! Unfortunately whats happening in Venezuela is shaping up in Canada and  America! High taxes, high energy prices, class warfare, MSM propaganda to cause chaos. We are on the brink of loosing many of our our freedoms as the population sleeps.

David Rockefeller Quote:

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, the New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost 40 years……It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The super national sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination (self determination) practiced in past centuries.”

China plans to rank all its citizens based on their “social credit” by 2020.

The problem I have with Rockefeller and his UN world Government isn’t that he’s necessarily totally wrong, it’s that he’s building a new elitist socialist (communist) based world government on deceit, deception and manufactured media lies that is destabilizing our country making it ripe for taking over . This is a recipe for disaster for us little people. We will have no meaningful input into who’s going to rule us. Very scary.

As Canadians we have been sidetracked from the real issue like the never ending health care debate ,gay rights, adoration, pipelines, gender issues, political correctness , fake racism while Trudeau is steaming ahead with Rockefeller’s ‘plan’ to denationalize Canada and join the new world government. As Trudeau said himself just after he won the election “CANADA IS THE FIRST POST NATIONAL COUNTRY”.

So what is the plan in a nutshell? As Rockefeller put it , an authoritative elite (communism) would be the preferred rulers. These rulers with unlimited power would make sure all citizens are equal. Those with affluence would be taxed to the point they would have vey little money left over to invest and become wealthy. Inequality would no longer be tolerated . Like Germany today we would become more reliant on the government. The bottom line, the only people to benefit from capitalism are the ones that govern. The rest of us would have no chance to reach for the stars because we are being taxed and bullied into submission by our rulers.

George Bush Sr. in 1990 mention’s New world order

Stifling peoples dreams and self determination isn’t the way to the future. It’s taken centuries to shake off the shackles of our oppressors. The great Pharaoh’s, the Roman Empire the monarchy’s, Hitler all faded away but the people all marched forward for their freedom. Today the Rockefeller plan is just another grab for power that Im hopeful will be recognized before it sweeps us backwards into the hands of our oppressors.

Before you cast your vote in the upcoming Canadian election ,you may want to know what side you are voting for. The Rockefeller Plan or self determination . These are the only two issues that really count today. All other issues are just political fluff.

Is Bernier The Conservative Benedict Arnold?

leave a comment »

Is Maxine Bernier sabotaging The Conservative party of Canada or has he just got a case of really bad political judgement?

Just prior to the Conservative 2018 convention in Halifax Bernier launched a tirade of tweets and speeches to do away with supply management. By calling Ontario dairy farmers ‘Fake Conservatives ‘ and not telling the whole story about Canadian milk prices he portrayed  the dairy farmers out to be unscrupulous millionaires. Many of these farmers have been conservatives for decades and here is Bernier kicking them in the face right when the conservatives are having their big convention with all eyes on them. Is this just poor political judgement or is Bernier purposely sabotaging Andrew Scheer the leader of the conservative party?

Supply management may or may not be good for Canada, but it most certainly is not an issue the conservatives what to own going into an election. Since few people in Canada understand the issue, the Liberals with the media friends can easily define it to their own benefit leaving the conservatives on the defensive , especially in vote rich Ontario. I can’t believe that Bernier didn’t know this.

The wiser position for the conservative party to take, rather than trying to explain supply management , is to make Trudeau defend his policies which most Canadians already understand and the media is stuck with since they have been promoting them. It will be a lot easier for Scheer to let Trudeau defend the un-defendable Carbon tax, Illegal immigration, lack of building pipelines, stifling free speech to mention a few. Since an election is short, voters have to quickly understand the issues. Supply management isn’t an issue most voters are going to understand easily. Again, I can’t believe that Bernier didn’t know.

This isn’t the first time that Bernier embarrassed the conservative party and had to leave. As Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2008 under the Harper government Bernier lost classified foreign affairs documents at his girlfriend’s home putting PM Harper’s judgement into serious question. To make matters worse, Bernier girlfriend, Julie Couillard, had links to the criminal underworld. He didn’t even run any security check on her. This is mind boggling how a foreign affairs minister could have let this fiasco take place. I was skeptical it was just bad judgement than just as I am skeptical of the timing of Bernier’s departure from the conservative party now.

Today Bernier continues to embarrass and accuse the federal Conservatives of abandoning its core conservative principles and to start his own party that could split the conservative vote. Just the idea that Bernier, who calls himself a conservative, would knowingly allow the Trudeau liberals an opportunity to win the 2019 election is bizarre to say the least. Again is this just a case of bad judgement?

Andrew Scheer has just come off a big win in Quebec. He has also got Trudeau in a position where he will have to go on the defensive and explain all the liberal policies on illegal immigration , carbon tax to a public that doesn’t want either. A winning strategy.

So! Does Bernier want Andrew Scheer to win or Justin Trudeau to win? His actions against the conservative party is making him look like the Benedict Arnold of the conservative party.

Seriously! Notley’s Alberta’s Pipeline Champion

leave a comment »

The push to get a seaport for Alberta oil has all but disappeared. Less than a few years ago Alberta and Canada was  optimistically debating the need to ship Alberta oil to the east or west so we could sell our oil internationally and get top dollar instead of discounting our product traveling to the US. Today there are only a handful of diehards still pushing for a Gateway or the Energy East Pipeline. Politician are now shifting our attention to yet another pipeline project, the twinning of Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain Pipeline that presently supply’s BC ,Washington and the new upgrade at Westridge Marine Terminal to overseas. The Project will increase the system’s capacity from 300,000 barrels a day to 890,000  and allow us to enter new international markets that could result in Canada earning approximately $3.7 billion more per year and breaking the stronghold the US has on our oil.

Yes! That’s Notley on the side protesting Alberta oil and pipelines

Just like the Gateway and Energy East, the Trans Mountain  pipeline debacle has become laughable  . We now have two socialist NDP parties, Alberta’s Premier Rachel Notley’s and BC’s Premier John Horgan’s who both don’t want a Pipeline, going to WAR on new, already federally approved, Trans Mountain pipeline should proceed from Alberta through BC to Burnaby. Notley, an anti pipeline protester, has now become Alberta’s champion . It’s absurd!

It’s become obvious there are very powerful forces that don’t want Alberta heavy oil to get to a sea port via pipeline.  Ironically shipping oil by train and truck doesn’t seem to grab the harsh headlines as does oil pipelines. Also it’s very strange that over the past few years a new addition to the Westridge Marine terminal on the west coast has been approved and is under construction to handle more oil tankers (filled by pipe or train) with little protest except for the ‘Trudeau Brigade’. This a protest group who hangs on PM Trudeau’s encouraging words “that the people have the final say” not the federal government .

So Whats with the hyperbole of a trade war between Alberta and BC?

New BC Westridge Marine Terminal to Overseas.

Power for one. The federation of Canada is being challenged on its authority . if the federal government doesn’t have the power to make national decisions in the public interest we end up with a country that is destabilized. The only group that would benefit from this would be socialist who can showcase how ineffective our system is. The trade war isn’t about a pipeline, it’s about power and control. Alberta oil is going to flow. Bills have to be paid.

The fact is premier Notley, Horgan,PM Trudeau and federal NDP leader Jagmeet Sing are all on board with the trade war chaos. This is why I think ‪an Alberta trade war with BC is all smoke and mirrors! I think Alberta will be sucked down the well. Real champions like UPC Leader Kenny and all conservatives  have to come up with a better way than a trade war to enforce jurisdictions,  save Alberta’s oil industry and save the Canadian free enterprises way. Cutting off oil ,wine etc to BC might get Alberta politicians votes in the short-term but won’t solve anything. Alberta needs a long-term plan. A plan that Notley can’t steal from UCP Jason Kenney come election time. In the meantime using train to transport oil is the option.

Canada – Radical Islam

leave a comment »

Islamic terrorists are out in full force around the world. The Palm Sunday bombing killing 43 innocent souls at a Coptic church in Egypt, the Westminster bridge killing in London, the Saint Petersburg train attack killing 10 and injuring dozens are just a few of the most recent. The world has been plagued with terrorist attacks around the world. The good news is most of the Muslims are peaceful and do not support terror. The bad news is 15-25% of the 1.6 billion Muslims can be classified an Extreme Islamic Muslim . That’s a minimum of 150 million extremist shouting ‘Death for the sake of Allah’ are ready to fight for Islam. The worst part is they are not centralized in one area. These extremist are positioned all over the globe making it impossible to wage a successful traditional attack. This is really a screwed up position for the western world to be in. The questions are how did we get in this terrifying position and whats being done to ease the tension?

There is probably many reasons for why the Islamic terrorist threat grew so fast. One reason is that ISIS was able to recruit immigrants that were not being allowed into any of the 55 Muslim countries. Being country less, no money and no place to go these immigrants were glad to have an offer to be a citizen of the new caliphate. It didn’t matter that the Qur’an was being interpreted in a very selective way and that Islam was hijacked by extremists. When your down and out and only one person offers you a hand up you take it. The Arab would failed.

Not listening to the radicals have also put us behind the eight ball. The Islamic extremist have in the past blamed western foreign policy for all their problems. We (the people) believed if we eliminate these problems we would have peace. The grievances were just rhetoric, secondary to the real reason they hate us which is because we are infidels. They will  hate us until we all believe n Allah. The west simply failed to recognize this.

As Joe bieden said “you never let a good crisis go to waste”. In this case the Liberal left has used the Muslim immigration problem to their advantage. The Muslim migration crisis is a fit for the liberal ‘culture war’ that is being waged on western countries to destabilize their economies so they can be ushered into the boarderless society or the New World Order as some call it.

While the main street media the likes of CNN and CBC is spouting  out propaganda in the west, the Muslim countries are also deep in the propaganda war. They are telling their people it’s an act of self-defence to fight America. America wants to destroy us and is the cause of all our problems. It’s always the Wests fault. This is how the extreme Islamic leaders persuaded their followers to go and fight. By demonizing the West they are indoctrinating followers to their radical interpretations of the Qur’an and inciting hate to produce todays terrorist.

I’m sure you have heard that radical Islam only encompasses a small part of the 1.6 billion Muslims world-wide. Since there is no standard of measuring what percentage of the extremists are part of the 1.6 billion (Pew Research) I’m using 15% to 25% according to all the intelligence services around the world .  This could mean we are looking at up to 300 million people dedicated to the destruction of Western civilization. It’s really hard to wrap your head around the problem.

In 1938, just before world war 2, the British PM Neville Chamberlin thought he could have peace with Hitler. Through his appeasement foreign policy, Chamberlin conceded the Sudetenland region of Czechoslovakia to Hitler. The PM went back to Britain proclaiming a war had been averted and there was peace. Just a few months later Hitler attacked Poland and WW2 started. Chamberlin didn’t understand how radical Hitler was and gave him a huge advantage. History appears to be repeating itself. Radical Islam is demonizing the west like Hitler demonized the jews. Appeasement doesn’t work of radicals.

There is only one argument we can put forward to try to stem the forward momentum of these radical Islamists. We have to get the 75% liberal Muslim’s on our side, giving them safety from the crazies and a voice to counter the hate. We can’t lump them into the same boat as the extremist. If we do, that’s where they will end up. If they do side with the extremist we will have a catastrophic problem that will be impossible to solve.

Interesting video; Islam religion needs a review

Trudeau’s Immigrants

with one comment

Met a few friends in the mall a few days ago. Being conservative the conversation quickly turned to Trudeau’s pro Muslim immigration policies. During our lambasting of Trudeau I mention the Roman Empire was brought down because they didn’t accept the barbarian refugees. Maybe that was why the liberals were so pro Muslim. They didn’t want history to repeat itself.  The moment I said that I realized that’s wasn’t the case.

It’s true that the Romans couldn’t stand the barbarian’s and left them to starve with no food or land giving them no alternative but to attack Rome. But, unlike Islam the barbarian’s wanted to assimilate into the Roman culture. They wanted to be part of the good life. On the other hand many of the Islam faith want us to assimilate in their culture. Big difference.

Unfortunately the Romans lacked the foresight  to allow the barbarian’s to be apart of their society, so they got sacked ,putting them on the path to ruin. The Roman’s terrible treatment of immigrants is a good lesson to be learned of what not to do, but doesn’t  explain why the Liberals tolerate Islam immigration which can be intolerant to everything that isn’t Islam such as Christianity. Trudeau definitely seems to favours islamic immigrants.  A faith that many do not want to assimilate into the western culture. Why?

It seems to me the liberals distrain for Christianity and not other religions goes dates back  to the early 16th century. Since Liberalism was secular trapped inside an all-powerful Christian society, the liberals blamed Christianity for not being able to advance their ideas. Other religions like Islam, Buddhism etc. weren’t holding them back, so they tolerated them. Like Machiavelli, they didn’t believe that an ‘imaginary’ ideal society was a model which should be followed. The fact is, the Liberals have had a dislike for christians for centuries which might explain their reluctance to open the immigrations gates to them.

As far as Muslims go, I don’t  think that Liberals actually defend or favour Islam, but they are taking advantage of the crisis to further their political agenda especially against all things Christian (ex: Cadbury drops Easter from egg hunt). They acknowledge that there are many different Muslims who can have very different ideas about “Islam”. Unfortunately I think they have their heads in the fog. It’s as if they feel there could never be any problem with Muslim immigration. It’s as if  Trudeau thinks that a growing Muslim population can practise their faith in our  free society while effortlessly blending into our Canadian society. In many cases around the world it has been shown that it’s not so, especially in Britain.

Personally I believe Western values and laws are superior and must be thoroughly defended throughout our country and want Trudeau and his Liberal government to make sure all immigrants are willing to abide by OUR laws. I don’t want Sharia law Canada and don’t want religion in government.

Finally, we learned from the Romans that we must allow legitimate immigration into Canada.  I wouldn’t want to set up a situation where we paint all muslim’s with the same brush and exclude them from Canada. This could set up a situation where Muslims who interpret the Koran in a more peaceful meaning to pick sides. The estimated number of radicals are between 15-25% [of the Muslim population] according to all intelligence services around the world.  We don’t want to to isolate 75% of the Muslims that don’t advocate violence. We need them on our side.
